Arthur Cox has been recognised as the leading firm in Ireland and Europe for the advancement of female talent and the promotion of gender diversity, taking home three awards at the Euromoney Europe Women in Business Law awards which were held in London last night. The awards recognise firms for their efforts in ensuring the advancement of women in the legal profession.
Nominated in a total eleven individual and firm-wide categories, the highest number of nominations of any Irish law firm, the firm won the Best National Firm, Best Firm in Ireland and Best National Firm Mentoring Programme awards.
Commenting on the award the Managing Partner of Arthur Cox, Brian O’Gorman, said: “These accolades are a great achievement that recognise our long-standing commitment to diversity. The retention and promotion of women lawyers within Arthur Cox is a key strategic priority for us as a firm. Not only to be recognised at a country level but also at a European level is testament to the ambitious diversity initiatives of our firm and everyone at the firm who spearheads them.”
Arthur Cox was also shortlisted in the categories of best gender diversity initiative by a national firm, best national firm for work-life balance and best national firm for pro bono work. Individual women partners in the firm were recognised for their achievements being nominated in six categories – best in financial regulation, product liability, corporate governance, insurance & reinsurance, investment funds and mergers & acquisitions.
